Piano or Keyboard? What is the difference?
Piano and Keyboard are different in the way of producing the sound.
The piano is an acoustic musical instrument, which means that the sound produced physically. You press the keys and little hammers in the body of the piano will hit the strings. The vibration of the strings amplified by the body of the piano, and this is how the sound produced.
The Keyboard is an electrical musical instrument with a variety of different, pre-programmed sound- and rhythm patterns. If you have a piano, you will only have a piano sound “on it”. If you have a keyboard, you can change between different instruments and styles, depending on the model what you own.
One of the advantages of keyboards and electric piano is that they are easy to transport.
Can I use Keyboard learning to play the classical piano?
Yes, of course. The way of playing a keyboard is pretty much the same, as playing the piano. What you should keep in mind is that electric pianos and keyboards might have fewer keys, than an acoustic piano. It could be a problem when you are reaching a higher level in piano playing. Also, the weight of the keys is different. The piano keys are heavier than the keys on a keyboard. In practice, it means that you will need more power in your fingers to press the keys. Starting straight on an electric or an acoustic piano will give you the chance to develop better playing technics.
